EDU 508- Research in Education

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Research in Education is designed to provide students with a general introduction to the theory and practice of research as utilized in educational setting. The course presents multiple research designs, procedures and techniques that will assist students in understanding and evaluating both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies in education.

In this class, I learned the foundations of conducting research.  I learned about qualitative vs. quantitative research and how the two can be used together for specific research projects.  I was also introduced to the endless resources the ERIC database has to offer, which came in handy during EDU 675!

For my final project, I wrote a theoretical research report on the psychological effects of cyberbullying on middle school aged children.  The report is theoretical because I did not have access to a school system in which to conduct my research, therefore, there are no exact findings. I was able to recognize the flaws in this research project, which was also a main focus of the class. The icon below is a link to the PDF version of this research report.
