EDU 553- Computers in the Classroom & Curriculum
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Provides a basis for use of computers in educational settings. Topics discussed include the applications of software and the Internet for learning and teaching, productivity tools, and curriculum design and planning in educational technology.
For this assignment we had to create a brochure (Appendix H) as a way to communicate information with our students. I created this brochure as a mini-lesson for a high school graphic design class. The brochure provides information on the use of the font Helvetica and the lesson incorporates the use of the font.
The gradebook assignment (Appendix I) required us to show our capabilities in making a gradebook using technology. My gradebook provides a sleek, professional look and even incorporates a graph to show how each student compares to the others and how they have progressed throughout the class.
Throughout the semester, we worked on our final project –which was a unit plan that incorporated the NETS.T and NETS.S standards in technology. This unit plan features three, 1st grade lesson plans that focus on the CCSS reading standards by using technology to help students meet these requirements.
