Professional Goals / Educational Philosophy

My educational philosophy matches my life motto, “always keep on learning.”   I feel that teachers should always continue learning whether it’s through professional development or for their own self-means.

I refer to myself as a perpetual student; I will always be in school learning!  Part of the learning process will always involve technology.  Since technology is always growing and changing, I feel that it is important to grow and change with it.

The following items below describe my professional goals.

Graduate

My first professional goal is to graduate with my Master’s Degree in Educational Technology. It has always been a life goal to get my master’s and this degree will help me achieve my other professional goals as well.

Obtain Certification/ELL Cert.

After I graduate, I will obtain my teaching certification. I am currently not a certified teacher.  This program was a way for me to get my master’s and test the waters in the education field.  After being in this program, I have realized that I enjoy teaching very much and it is worth it for me to pursue it further. I also put ELL certification in this category because I would love to become an ELL instructor.

Keep on learning!

As I have previously mentioned, I will always continue to learn, especially in terms of technology.  I feel it is necessary to keep current with technology in order to provide your students with an interactive and engaging lesson plan. Since most students are naturally inclined to be more into technology, I feel it is necessary to keep up with the technology changes.  This way I’m not out of the loop with what’s out there and I can provide my students with the latest information/resources.
